The October 11th Liquidation Challenge

On October 11th, 2025, the cryptocurrency market witnessed one of the most dramatic liquidation cascades in history. Over $2 billion in leveraged positions were wiped out in a matter of hours. Can you build a strategy that not only survives this chaos, but thrives in it?

The Challenge

We've recreated the exact market conditions of the October 11th liquidation event in our backtesting sandbox. Your mission: design a trading strategy that can navigate through this extreme volatility.

What Happened on 10/11?

The cascade began with a sudden 15% drop in BTC price, triggering a wave of long liquidations. As prices tumbled, automated liquidations created a feedback loop, pushing prices even lower. Within 3 hours, the entire crypto market was in freefall.

"The market showed no mercy. Positions that seemed safe at 10x leverage were completely liquidated. Only the most disciplined risk managers survived." - Anonymous Trader

Tips from Survivors

Manage Your Leverage

High leverage amplifies gains but guarantees liquidation during cascades. Consider using lower leverage or dynamic position sizing based on volatility.

Watch the Funding Rates

Extreme funding rates often signal overleveraged positions. This can be your early warning system—or an opportunity to fade the crowd.

Have an Exit Plan

Hope is not a strategy. Define your stop losses before entering positions, and stick to them even when the market is moving against you.
